The Lumpkin County Fire and EMS is available to the citizens for reasons other than when there is an emergency. Services such as blood pressure checks, smoke detectors, car seats and pre fire plans are available. Check below for more information.
Free Blood Pressure Check You can stop by the fire station for a free blood pressure check as long as there are personnel available.
Smoke Detectors You can get a free smoke detector ( if available ) by stopping by station # 1.
Address Signs Metal reflective address signs are available for $10. These are highly visible and enable responders to find your home more easily.
Car Seats Persons that receive Medicade, Peachcare or WIC can get a free car seat when available. Call Anne Wiggly @ 706.864.9183 between 9:00 am and 4:00 pm to set up an appointment.
Pre-Fire Plans If you have a business in Lumpkin County you can have your building walked through by fire personnel so they may establish a pre-fire plan. This is not an inspection but rather a way that important information about you location can be gathered when there is no emergency. This information can include hydrant locations, FDC connections, any hazardous materials stored on site and building construction information. This is all kept on the fire trucks so that in case of a fire a lot of the normal unknowns can all ready be prepared for and not only can the firefighters operate more safely but any special tactics needed for your property can be started sooner to prevent further damage.
