Emergency Management Agency
The
Emergency Management Agency is responsible for the management of
all emergency preparedness program areas within the County. The
primary role of the Agency is to develop and implement disaster
planning, mitigation and response activities within Lumpkin
County. Additionally, the Agency develops and maintains
emergency plans for all types of natural and man-made hazards,
and provides the analysis and recommendations necessary to make
decisions that will effectively save lives and protect property
in such emergencies.

Periodically training through the Community Emergency Response Team (CERT) is conducted to train citizens for disaster preparedness for hazards that may impact their area or neighborhood and trains them in basic disaster response skills, such as fire safety, light search and rescue, team organization, and disaster medical operations.
